Celebrating the APIW 2026 Woman of the Year: Jill Beggs

APIW is proud to celebrate Jill Beggs, our 2026 Woman of the Year—a visionary leader whose impact on the reinsurance industry spans more than three decades, marked by innovation, service, and exceptional leadership.

A Trailblazing Industry Leader

Jill Beggs serves as EVP and CEO of Reinsurance for Everest Re, where she oversees Global Reinsurance operations across North America, International, Global Facultative, Global Specialty, and Mt. Logan Capital Management. Elevated to this role in July 2025, Jill’s rise at Everest has been remarkable. She joined the company in 2021 as SVP of Reinsurance for North America and was quickly promoted to Group‑level SVP and COO—testament to her strategic acumen and leadership excellence.

A Distinguished Career of Innovation

Jill began her career at Everest before spending nearly 20 years at Munich Re, where she led U.S. treaty and facultative reinsurance programs across a broad range of business lines. Her impact extended far beyond underwriting:

  • She launched Munich Re’s innovation incubator, driving forward‑thinking solutions for an evolving marketplace.
  • She played a pivotal role in building Munich Re’s E&S insurance operations, demonstrating her ability to shape and scale new business platforms.

Her career reflects not only operational excellence but also a deep commitment to advancing the industry through creativity, collaboration, and strategic vision.

Recognized for Excellence

Jill’s contributions have earned wide recognition throughout the industry. She was honored as a 2023 Business Insurance Woman to Watch and named an IBA Elite Woman in Insurance in 2017. Her professional commitment is further demonstrated through her CPCU and ARe designations, underscoring her dedication to lifelong learning and expertise.

A Leader Who Gives Back

Beyond her corporate leadership, Jill is deeply committed to supporting people—within her company and across the industry. She has served as the executive sponsor for the DEI Council and the Veterans Employee Resource Group, championing inclusion and meaningful engagement. As a long‑standing APIW member, she consistently lends her time and experience to help others grow and succeed.
