SARA GONZALES
Sara Gonzales is a junior Risk Management major at St. John's University's School of Risk Management, Insurance and Actuarial Science, part of The Peter J. Tobin College of Business, where she maintains a 3.29 grade point average. 
Sara is from Randolph, New Jersey where she interned with Allstate for 2 years.  It was during this time that she expanded her knowledge of the industry.  She is the current vice president of the Student Government Association on campus and an active member of St. John's Alpha Iota Chapter of Gamma Iota Sigma, the international risk management, insurance and actuarial science fratermity.  She is fluent in Spanish and enjoys traveling.

VANESSA A. CONTRERAS
Vanessa A. Contreras, a junior at Illinois State University Katie School of Insurance, is the recipient of the 2008 scholarship provided by APIW each year to a student of the Katie School. The scholarship was presented at an awards program and dinner on Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at the Doubletree Hotel and Conference Center in Bloomington, IL.

Ms. Contreras is majoring in finance and insurance and maintains a 3.27 GPA. She has obtained her Property and Casualty Insurance Producer License and is working towards her ChFC and CPCU designations. Ms. Contreras is the president of Delta Sigma Pi, the #1 professional business fraternity and is also a member of Gamma Iota Sigma, an insurance fraternity.
She is a three time recipient of The General Assembly Scholarship. Ms. Contreras was one of two students selected in the Katie School international internship program to intern in the London market during the summer of 2008.
